We Always Want What We Can’t Have April 5, 2009

Why is it, we always want what we can't have? We want chocolate when we are on a diet, we want someone else's husband because our pisses us off. What about the 20 year old hottie with the hot pants that always says hi to you at the coffee shop? Yeah, buddy get a grip she will never look at you again when you ain't dropping that giant tip in her jar!!
Anyway, if you have noticed Blogdumps has been down for the past 2 weeks and it has almost killed me! Because I could not blog, I JUST HAD TO BLOG!!! I wanted nothing else in life, not food, not sex, no shower, nothing could easy the pain, all I needed was to blog!! Because? I could not do it!
It was a very difficult 2 weeks there is no doubt. 2 weeks is actually a long time, it is a longer time in a dogs life or even longer in a guinea pigs life, but still it was a long time.
I don't think I want to go through that again. I need my blogs, all 206 of them that I think I own... okay so it may not be that many but that is how many I want ot have. So, I will probably never accomplish that feat either. Oh well. Back to Blogging on my other 205 sites.

I believe that is a very good name for all of this hoopla! Let's look at it, March Madness!
Seemingly normal people with good jobs are willing to watch a basketball game on their computers from work! People who have NEVER once watched one of these college games before are now watching every minute that they can and risking their careers to do it.
Women, who couldn't give a damn about any sport are now hanging out at the local pub with everybody else, jumping up and down and spilling beer on their work clothes... why? Because everybody else is doing it and it is fun to jump up and down and spill beer on your clothes! (I guess)
Some how, they have taken the Superbowl and made it into a MONTH long celebration just for celebrations sake. It is kind of like being in New Orleans, where every day is some kind of festival or celebration, again just for the sake of being able to drink and jump up and down.
Thank heavens we don't have to do this more than once a year! What if they had January Jubilations for Hockey, or February Festivious for Volleyball, we would be drunk for 3 months straight. No one would have clothes to wear any more because they keep spilling beer all over them, every time some team scores something!
Why suddenly is everybody a basketball fan in March anyway? I know tons of people who have NEVER watched a basketball in their entire lives and then must watch every game during March Madness, what is wrong with these people? I don't get it. Is March really that dull and boring?

You all remember Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona , The one who painted the jail cells pink and made the inmates wear pink prison garb. I love this guy Well.........
SHERIFF JOE IS AT IT AGAIN!
Maricopa County was spending approx. $18 million dollars a year on stray animals, like cats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over, and the County Supervisors said okay.
The animal shelters are now all staffed and operated by prisoners. They feed and care for the strays. Every animal in his care is taken out and walked twice daily. He now has prisoners who are experts in animal nutrition and behavior. They give great classes for anyone who'd like to adopt an animal. He has literally taken stray dogs off the street, given them to the care of prisoners, and had them place in dog shows.
The best part? His budget for the entire department is now under $3 million. A couple adopted a Weimaraner from a Maricopa County shelter two years ago. He was neutered, and current on all shots, in great health, and even had a microchip, Cost $78.
The prisoners get the benefit of about $0.28 an hour for working, but most would work for free, just to be out of their cells for the day. Most of his budget is for utilities, building maintenance, etc. He pays the prisoners out of the fees collected for adopted animals.
I have long wondered when the rest of the country would take a look at the way he runs the jail system, and copy some of his ideas. He has a huge farm, donated to the county years ago, where inmates can work, and they grow most of their own fresh vegetables and food, doing all the work and har vesting by hand.
He has a pretty good sized hog farm, which provides meat, and fertilizer. It fertilizes the Christmas tree nursery, where prisoners work, and you can buy a living Christmas tree for $6 - $8 for the Holidays, and plant it later. We have six trees in our yard from the Prison.
Yup, he was reelected last year with 83% of the vote.
Now he's in trouble with the ACLU again. He painted all his buses and vehicles with a mural, that has a special hotline phone number painted on it, where you can call and report suspected illegal aliens. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement wasn't doing enough in his eyes, so he had 40 deputies trained specifically for enforcing immigration laws, started up his hotline, and bought 4 new buses just for hauling folks back to the border. He's kind of a 'Git-R Dun' kind of Sheriff.
My question is..... WHY can't we get more sheriff's like this? Why can't our prisons wake up and stop treating felons like they are at a 4 star resort? Why not make jail miserable so they never come back again? Why is this so hard to figure out by our back-ass, cockeyed government?
